I wanted to do a quick and easy trash to treasure video/post for you today, and I hope it comes in handy for you! "See a need, fill a need" - Bigweld - Robots 2005
I have some succulents that I'm actively trying to NOT kill. I think I mentioned before, my thumb is so not green. Like at all. One of my plants has some "babies" that I separated previously but need new pots. I also have one that is having problems but I think i can save it. I hope so, it's my favorite!
Supplies I used here are:
3 Armour Potted Meat* cans (yes, I really do like that stuff, it's a great keto snack!)
1 4oz can from small mushrooms
scrapbook paper or paint
twine/rope/yarn/ribbon (to cover the sharp rim and also decorate with if you wish)
Mod Podge*
soil
nail & hammer or drill (something to poke holes in the bottoms)
Ready, set, go!
Make sure the cans are clean, and poke your holes for drainage
Safety first, make sure to watch out for that sharp rim on the inside. Since it's going to have soil and rocks or moss on top, you probably shouldn't need to do anything to it, just be careful!
Now, here's where you decorate. You could paint, or use the scrapbook paper, or any combo you like. I painted them first.
Next I pick my papers to wrap around them. What I'll do is butt the edge of the paper right up against the little lip at the top and wrap the paper around the can. I do this with the pattern facing the can so I can draw the line on the back where to cut. I have plenty of paper in case I mess it up, but I am trying to be precise.
Once I get the paper cut, I'll go ahead and glue it down.
Let it dry well.
The rest is just adding soil and a plant!
